Welcome to the website of the Maudsley Bipolar eMonitoring Project! This is an exciting study for people with Bipolar disorders. It aims to give us a better understanding on the course of Bipolar illness by studying the influence of sub-syndromal symptoms and their variability as well as the application of new technologies (electronic mood diaries and activity monitors) for assisting the better monitoring of this devastating but yet fascinating condition.

The study was originally funded by the Medical Research Council, UK and was hosted at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London and Newcastle University. It was later funded by the department of Psychological Medicine.

It currently continues through the PhD project of Yanni Malliaris at the Institute of Psychiatry and is partially funded through a small grant from the British council (Medical Informatics Scheme) and the Psychiatry Research Trust (PRT)

The study remains a joint research effort between mental health researchers and users ( MDF, The Bipolar Organisation)

Please use the following links to find out more about the study. If you have any questions feel free to contact, Yanni Malliaris, who will be happy to help you.
