Remote eMonitoring
Since the start of the eMonitoring project we received hundreds of requests from interested participants. Unfortunately due to geographical restraints and also limitations by our research protocol we were unable to recruit participants who were outside our catchment area (GB - South London Maudsley Trust - www.slam.nhs.uk). However, we felt that it would be possible to develop different versions of the programme that would allow worldwide participation.
As this remains a research project and our resources are limited, we still need to make certain distinctions about who can participate and under what conditions. Our goal remains however to offer the same eMonitoring experience to everyone as much as possible.
The design of the programme will remain the same for everybody but there will be differences in what we can offer in terms of human contact (the most expensive aspect of the project) and equipment (not cheap either).
If you want to do the Remote eMonitoring, you are likely to fall under one of these 3 groups, depending where you live and how close you are to our research criteria.
1. Remote eMonitoring - Group A
(for participants living in UK who meet our research criteria)
2. Remote eMonitoring - Group B
(for participants living abroad who meet our research criteria)
3. Remote eMonitoring - Group C
(for participants living in UK or abroad who do not meet our research criteria)
If you want to participate in the Remote eMonitoring arm of this project, please contact us to register your interest. We will get in touch with you as soon as our pilot is over.
In the meantime, it would help if you had your own Skype and Gmail account as we rely a lot on their services.
A first version of the Remote eMonitoring arm with approximately 20 participants from all over UK (away from London) ran successfully between July and December. This first version used successfully web-based questionnaires and skype for the symptom monitoring alongside the other devices. Funding is currently sought to expand this further.
